History
Westside Community Ministries, Inc. (WCMI) is a seasoned human services organization; first conceived as the brainchild of Pastors Benny Shobe, Melvin Jackson and Ananias Robinson. It is the outgrowth of an attempt to restructure a dormant entity known as Westside Ministerial Concerns Commission, Inc. that functioned as a social services organization for nearly 15 years in the Haughville area. As a result, on September 17, 1997, WCMI was born.
Partnership Development
WCMI has partnered with the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise, Weed & Seed Initiatives, WESCO, Indianapolis Housing Agency, Marion County Office of Family and Children (MCOFC) Juvenile Court, Indianapolis Police Department West District, United States Attorney, Southern District, City of Indianapolis, Neighborhood Associations, & Social Service providers.
WCMI's commitment is to continue outreach in the WESCO neighborhood and initiate a replication project for UNWA and Eastside neighborhoods by:¨
